Renovation of 2 bedroom flat in converted office building, central Farringdon

This 2-bed flat had been converted from an office building in the 1990s, and aside from a new kitchen, had not been renovated since. The resulting space was light and generously proportioned, but some of the finishes were dated. Our client wanted to modernise the layouts and finishes, and to increase storage space throughout, while preserving the light and spacious feel. In particular, she wanted a ‘Boutique Hotel’ style in the bedrooms, and to improve the layout and style of the unwelcoming, cramped and dark en-suite bathroom.

The wooden floor & doors were in good condition but had become orange-hued over time. Sanding & re-finishing the floor had an immediately modernising effect, complementing the grey-toned wall colours throughout, and without busting the budget. Woodwork and joinery were spray-painted throughout for a sleek finish. The result is a chic but comfortable and welcoming modern home with plenty of storage and no compromise on light and space.
