Our clients appointed us to manage the renovation of their home, which included plans to create an under-pavement bike store. The interior works were less technically complex, but also needed to be carried out with great care and attention to achieve a beautiful finish while fulfilling the conditions of the Listed Building Consent granted for the works.

The house has gorgeous original features and had been extended in a previous renovation, so already worked for our clients in terms of layout. However, the floor joists throughout the lower floors were significantly out of level and our clients wanted to improve this while adding new flooring, as well as refreshing the finishes throughout.

They also wanted to overhaul the plumbing infrastructure including adding underfloor heating to more efficiently heat the space

The project management of this renovation included managing collaboration between a specialist team of architects and structural engineers to finalise the design for the bike store, and co-ordinating specialist flooring and kitchen installations with the main contractor works.

Our design work focussed on beautiful details: considered junctions between the new flooring and the existing woodwork of the house, lovely new faceplates & ironmongery in timeless finishes, and upgrades to existing joinery with practical fittings & decorative details. In the main family bathroom, a bespoke, marble-topped vanity and large mirror cabinet make a stunning central feature. The palette and materials throughout are sympathetic to the Georgian features of the house, but with playful modern touches making a welcoming, personalised family home.
